Houston’s Alief area is becoming a haven for musical talent, and RTM Drae, of the Rec The Mic camp, is the one of the emerging newcomers. This new track “Krisscross” featuring RTM Saint is perfect display of each of their lyrical ability. For a long time the perception of Houston music has been “they lack lyricism,” but the latest influx of artists coming out has been expressing a great deal of word play. On this track, Drae and Saint goes back and forth with a plethora of punchlines. In the second verse, Drae raps,
“Wake up and go get to the grind, you know it’s our time/
I’m trying to get paid off of rhyme, I’m doper than crack you a line/
They said that I’m back, but that’s a lie, I never left I was high. ”
“Krisscross” is the first track off the 5-song project titled The Leif that we could expect to hit the streets at the end of April, until then you guys can jam the track above and for more music from RTM Drea you can go to his SoundCloud here.
