Kodak Black is now a free man! Well not all the way, but his time in jail is now over.
The 19-year-old Florida rapper will be on house arrest until further notice.
In may Kodak was arrested for false imprisonment, robbery without a weapon, operating a vehicle without a viable license and possession of marijuana. Earlier today, he had a hearing in Fort Lauderdale court where his legal team entered a no contest plea to all charges.
In court, Michael Kushner, executive vice president of legal at Atlantic Records testified on Kodak’s behalf, saying “He’s only at the very beginning of a very promising career […] It is our hope that the court will agree that he be given the opportunity to turn his life around.” Another friend of Kodak told the judge, “I think he deserves a second chance.”
As a result, the judge, Lisa Porter, accepted that plea, “I will give you an opportunity, Mr Octave, to prove yourself here, and be a productive member of society […] “What happens from here on out is up to you.”
Along serving house arrest, Kodak will have complete community service, anger management and community control supervision. The judge also withheld adjudication, allowing Kodak to tour internationally.
The Fineness Kid will be back in the free world as early as today, no later than tomorrow.
